It’s been a while since we did any YouTube content but, with the FM Addict blog now regularly publishing on Mondays and Fridays, I’d been looking for a fun save to run a weekly video every Wednesday.
And, thanks to a recent BBC article, I found a new challenge that I thought could get us started back on YouTube. That challenge is to improve San Marino, the world’s worst national team.
In more than 160 matches – as of the start of the 2020/21 campaign – San Marino have only ever won one match, and that was a friendly against Liechtenstein in 2004. So that got me thinking – how do you go about improving San Marino?
And I believe that’s through establishing better facilities, a strong infrastructure and youth improvement. So, I went into the FM Editor, did a bit of tweaking, created a new academy to produce better players, and created a player to act as a figurehead for Sammarinese football: 15-year-old Davide San Marino.
Watch Episode 1 of Improving San Marino to meet the team, discover some potentially exciting new Sammarinese prospects, and see us play our first game as San Marino boss against Gibraltar (and hear the San Marino national anthem…). It’s live now on YouTube.
