24 Hours In FM: Part 6 – Back On The Job Market

Having suffered the indignity of getting the sack in Part 5 – albeit while on holiday – it was time to sign back on the dole and hit the Job Centre.

Upon returning from holiday the jobs available are: Bournemouth, Real Valladolid, Chievo Verona and FC Heidenheim. I’m not particularly keen on any of them, so with a few months until the end of the season I might just wait it out and count my pennies from the Bilbao sacking.

I immediately got offered an interview with Bournemouth but they’re way down in 18th in the Premier League. I also took an interview with Scottish Championship side Raith Rovers, who have lofty ambitions of getting promoted within two seasons. I was tempted by the challenge but their squad was really old so I couldn’t be bothered. Then, Bournemouth chose Frank De Boer instead of me.

Then I got an interview with a club very close to my heart courtesy of Football Manager… Atalanta. And they offered me the job, so I accepted.

Join us next time as we explore why Atalanta were managerless were three months of the season remaining.
