I'm no expert on women's football but, with it being introduced to Football Manager for the first time in the upcoming Football Manager 26, I wanted to get myself up to pace. And, having done so, the women's game offers interesting new managerial experiences, a different way of playing the game, and opportunities to develop exciting stories in FM26.
Zambian manager Trebor Mahtal etched his name into the history books as he led a pretty scary Spain side to World Cup glory in 2070. The 86-year-old manager tendered his resignation and was swiftly offered roles by Nigeria, Senegal, Uruguay and, most intriguingly, Argentina and Brazil. But he was done with management and decided to retire on a high.
A season of very few goals left Trebor Mahtal well aware that he needed to improve FC Midtjylland's attacking threat heading into the 2037/38 campaign. The manager attracted attention from FC Maribor, but they weren't willing to pay Midtjylland's compensation demands.
A poor first season in Denmark saw Trebor Mahtal fearing the sack at the lowest point of his 13-year Football Manager career. He'd led FC Midtjylland to a pretty disappointing 6th place in the league after they failed to get going in his first season in charge.
A short, sweet, successful season in Slovakia meant Trebor Mahtal was back on the job hunt as he resigned from his role at Slovan Bratislava on 31 May 2035. His last two jobs had been a little easy, so he was keen on a job that posed more of a challenge.
